Day 10
Meet Jess
Mum of Twins, Melbourne VIC
What were the best gifts you received at your baby shower? Or if you didn’t have a shower, gifts before baby was born?
This sounds cliche but just having so many of my favourite women together, including friends from interstate and overseas, was really the best as I don’t know when that will ever happen again!
In terms of actual things, we got so many great essential items such as nappies, wipes, washing detergent, wraps and dummies, as well as things I didn’t know we would need such as a bottle steriliser (has been used every day) and of course our favourite, lots of books!
You had twins, did you expect two of everything at the baby shower?
Definitely not, it would be too much stuff and we mixed everything up as it was too hard to keep track of what belongs to who! Sharing is caring – twins learn that early
We’re you gifted anything you never got around to using?
We did receive some gorgeous clothes that just weren’t the right size for the season to use.
Did you receive any gifts at your shower that were for you (not baby) and if so, what were they?
Yes, I got a coffee voucher (invaluable for us sleep deprived parents), a pair of earrings and a pedicure voucher… I went into labour the day I had the pedicure!
What did you personally buy for baby before they were born that you never ended up using?
People were so incredibly generous to us that we bought very little but we did (naively) buy (impractical) clothes that we did buy which we haven’t used.
Now that you’re a Mum, what’s your ‘go to’ baby shower gift?
If it’s for fellow twin mummas-to-be; a waterproof pram cover and nappies (you simply can’t have too many). For everyone, always books.
A single tip for labour/delivery day
Just go with it. Whatever happens you got this and you are stronger than you know.

Baby shower gift ideas to spoil mum to be
A Harmony Ball is an extra special baby shower gift that allows mum to be to create an early connection with her baby while in the womb. After birth, her pendant will be a timeless keepsake reminder of those first flutters, kicks and hiccups(!) experienced during pregnancy.
